Honeymoon: October 2010
After what can only be described as a rough first day/night, we were finally awake during the day and ready to explore! We procured a map from the nice gentlemen tending the desk at our hotel, found a little cafe and began plotting our day.
Our first stop – Royal Palace of Madrid

According to Wikipedia, The Royal Palace of Madrid (Spanish: Palacio Real de Madrid) is the official residence of the Spanish Royal Family at the city of Madrid, but is only used for state ceremonies. King Felipe VI and the Royal Family do not reside in the palace, choosing instead the more modest Palacio de la Zarzuela on the outskirts of Madrid.

We enjoyed a lovely tour through the Royal Pharmacy and the Royal Armory – while I wish I could show you photos of these time capsules of medicine and military might, they didn’t allow photos during the tour. So to make up for it, I’ve attached the super amateur photos of the expertly crafted stonework and a bonus selfie. 😉

travelling is always a beautiful experience! Check out my blog if you stop by 🙂
